Incredible video shows what it's like to cross the Forth Bridge in the driver's seat

ScotRail tweeted the video on Friday and so far it has been viewed over 350,000 times.

You can watch as the train travels south across the Forth Bridge with an unobstructed look of the structure, as well as views of the Firth of Forth to the east and the west as the sun rises.

The video was filmed by attaching a camera to the windscreen while the driver was operating the train.

The Forth Bridge opened originally in January, 1890, and while many alterations have been made since then, this video offers an insight into what passengers rarely get to experience.

The social media response to the post was extremely positive, with one user even suggesting that young Scots poet, Len Pennie, should have narrated the video.

ScotRail responded saying that was an absolute ‘stoater’ of an idea.
