The road – stretching from its junction in Wholeflats Road to its junction with Smiddy Brae – will be closed between Monday, February 15 and Friday, February 19 to allow remedial works to the road surface joints at the Jinkabout Bridge road over the River Avon.

The alternative route during this period runs from the A905 Wholeflats Road in an easterly direction to the junction with Grange Road, turn onto Grange Road and travel in a southerly direction until the junction with Smiddy Brae and then continue on Smiddy Brae in a westerly direction until the road becomes Avondale Road.

Back in 2019 the brand new £650,000 Jinkabout Bridge mark II was lowered into place by Falkirk Council contractor Diack and MacCauly Ltd and was re-opened to traffic on April 26 of that year.
