Part of the M876 eastbound Larbert slip road will be shut off to traffic from 10pm on October 17 until 6am the next day.

The closure will enable SP Energy Networks to replace overhead power cables, some of which are several decades old, and install alternate electricity poles.

“We’re also installing additional capacity to support the ongoing economic growth in the area, which is a key priority for us.

“The network has performed well over the course of its lifespan, but now requires modernisation and parts of our network that are over 70 years old in places are being replaced, including those power lines that cross the motorway.

“We’ve developed a work programme that aims to minimise disruption and therefore the slip road closure that has been planned will see our teams working through the night when traffic on the road will be at its lowest volume.

“When complete, residents and business in the Falkirk area will benefit from better network performance and improved security of supply.”
