Passengers were hit with delays and cancellations after a power cable at Haymaraket Station in Edinburgh was brought down in high winds yesterday evening.

This meant the rail company was unable to use platform one at the station.

This morning ScotRail said services were now back to normal and thanked travellers for their patience.

They also reminded passengers that if they were delayed by 30 minutes or more they could claim Delay Repay compensation.

“It doesn’t matter what kind of ticket you have, if your train was cancelled or it was too busy to board, you’re still due compensation,” said an official.
