A Christmas night out turned to tragedy with the death of a 43-year-old man.
Colin Burnett died in hospital in the early hours of December 25.
It came less than 36 hours after an incident in the car park beside his flat in Woodside Court, behind the Falkirk Salvation Army building.
This is understood to have occurred after his return home on Friday following a festive drink with colleagues from James Callander’s Abbotshaugh Sawmill in Bainsford.
A neighbour is believed to have found the injured man around 10.30 p.m.
Mr Burnett was described as a quiet man, a keen Rangers supporter, who was regularly spotted near his home walking his collie dog.
He worked at the sawmill for around 25 years and paying tribute, works director Brendan Lynch said: “Colin was a valued employee who will be greatly missed by everyone here. Our thoughts are with his family and close friends at this tragic time.”
Mr Burnett’s long-term partner Lyn Armstrong was too upset to talk following the tragedy.
