Fire crews attacked by rockets

Police were summoned as back-up after the rescuers’ fire appliance had rockets aimed at it, and crews were abused and reportedly verbally threatened.

The incident happened last night on open ground at South View Street, Stenhousemuir, where the blaze was brought under control by 7pm.

Two youths at the scene reportedly suffered face injuries, one needing hospital treatment, as the bonfire flared.

SFRS crew are said to have provided emergency first aid using kit carried in the appliance.

No further injuries were reported.
