The streets around Falkirk town centre are looking better thanks to a group of volunteers.

Organised by Falkirk BID, the afternoon of litter-picking resulted in 36 bags of rubbish being collected and items including a tyre, shelf, barbed wire and a chair sent to be recycled.

The event was the third one organised by Falkirk BID to mark Keep Scotland Beautiful’s Annual Spring Clean and businesses including McDonald’s, the Wellington Bar and ASSET allowed employees to take part.

The clean-up was one of 67 organised in the Falkirk area and so far 5057 local volunteers have signed up and pledged to do their bit to keep Scotland beautiful.
