Thousands of Falkirk homes hit by gas outage

Thousands of homes in areas including Kinnaird and Carronshore have been without gas since early this morning, and it’s currently unclear how long the problem will take to fix.

Amid sub-zero temperatures it’s understood electric cookers and heaters are being offered to elderly and other vulnerable people.

SGN sent its engineers to the area some time before 9am,

A spokesperson said an update on the situation will be provided shortly.
