Welsh superstar Sir Tom Jones will Rock the Stadium in Falkirk this summer.
The long-awaited details of the concert are due to be announced next week.
But The Falkirk Herald can reveal that the singing legend will party on the pitch on Saturday, August 1 – to the delight of his thousands of fans.
His appearance marks another coup for Falkirk FC’s events company which previously attracted Elton John, Status Quo, Ronan Keating and Rod Stewart.
However, depending on match scheduling, the football club may have to request they are given a game away from home that day.
Rock the Stadium, now in its fourth year of hosting concerts at Falkirk’s home ground, has attracted thousands of music fans to the district. The local economy has also benefited from the influx of visitors.
Although everyone involved was staying tight-lipped, details and ticket information are due to be announced at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10.
A successful singer since the mid-1960s, Tom has attracted fans from every generation since and sold more than 100 million records.
He is currently one of the resident coaches on BBC’s ‘The Voice’.
No-one from Rock the Stadium was available for comment.
