Tenn charged with malicious calls to schools

A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of malicious phone calls to high schools.

Police Scotland confirmed the arrest of the 15-year-old after a spate of threatening calls were made to secondary schools across central Scotland, including Denny High on October 27.

On the same day, threats were made at the Inveralmond Community High, James Young High and St Margaret’s Academy in Livingston and Bathgate Academy in West Lothian which forced a ‘lockdown’.

Denny High remained open and working as normal with no disruption.

A police spokesperson said: “The incidents happened between October 7 and 31 to a number of high schools in Midlothian, Forth Valley, West Lothian and Edinburgh.

“He will be referred to the Children’s Reporter.”
