One of Falkirk’s newest businesses will feature in a top television series.
Collectique Falkirk opened by David and Yasmin Suckling last May welcomed the BBC cameras to its shop in Newmarket Street for an episode of the popular Antiques Road Trip show to be recorded.
It will be broadcast on Thursday on BBC1 at 4.30pm.
The couple were stunned when the producers contacted them to say they had looked at the fascinating range of antiques, collectables and hand crafted goods they have on sale on their web site and been so impressed they just had to come and film!
David (40) gave up a career as a civil engineer in Essex to move to Scotland with his wife three years ago.
They started the business by buying and selling ‘old and quirky’ items at fairs, markets and car boot sales around Scotland before opening in the former Guilded Cage premises.
David said: “Being featured on national television is not something we expected to happen, but great publicity for us and Falkirk because after they finished here they went off and filmed other parts of the town to feature in the programme. It really was great having them here.”
