Tattoo goes down under

The northern hemisphere met the southern hemishpere when the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo journeyed over to visit Australia this week.

Representatives from each of the nations participating at this week’s Tattoo at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium gathered on the banks of the Yarra River to support the strengthening of links between those countries.

International performers from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, Tonga and the United Kingdom came together for the first time ahead of entertaining 265,000 spectators over five performances.

This is only the fourth time in the Tattoo’s history that the world class event has been staged away from its home at Edinburgh Castle.
