Sports Council Chairman Lee Hemphill said: “By getting involved with Sport ED, there is an opportunity for clubs and their members to share knowledge, meet important local sports contacts, but more importantly access funding and get support for training, competitions and championships.

“It’s important for our clubs to get as much support as possible to ensure they are ready for any additional interest generated.”

The sports council was established in 1996 and exists to promote and develop the interests and participation in all sports throughout the local area.
