Barry Sharp (33), Flat 3, 31 Vicar Street, Falkirk, stole the goods from Tesco in Falkirk’s Central Retail Park and Wilko in the town’s High Street on four occasions in the space of two weeks.

Appearing at Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, Sharp previously pled guilty to the thefts he committed on March 15, 18, 19 and 28.

The court heard Sharp had developed a habit of sniffing solvents when he was 17 and it was still something he struggled with.

Sheriff Derek Livingston placed Sharp on a supervised community payback order for nine months with the condition he complete 160 hours of unpaid work and attend Signpost. A review was fixed for eight week’s time.
