Angling Club

Permits to fish on the River Avon for season 2014 are now on sale. Community Centre

Weekly times for groups which meet at Slamannan Centre are as follows – Monday: Mums and toddlers, 9.30 a.m. – 11.30 a.m.; Cooking class, 1–3 p.m.; Youth Club P1-P4, 6-7.15 p.m. and P4-P7, 7.30-8.45 p.m. Tuesday: Year 1 plus youth club, 5.30-8.30 p.m. Wednesday: Credit Union, 10-11 a.m..; Citizen Advice Bureau, 10.30 a.m.-1 p.m. (every first and third Wednesday); Fruit Barra, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; Bingo Group, 10.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m.; Wednesday Club, 1-3 p.m.; Karate, 6.30-8.30 p.m. Thursday: Mums and toddlers, 9.30 a.m.-noon; Dancing, 5.30-9.30 p.m.; Adult Watercolour class, 7-9 p.m. Friday: Mums and toddlers, 10.30 a.m.-1 p.m.; Arts and Crafts, 1-3 p.m. Saturday: Dancing, 2–4 p.m. Sunday: Dancing, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; Cllr McLuckie surgery, 10 a.m.–noon. Focus Group

Slamannan Community Centre is looking for between four to eight people aged over 50 for some focus groups for Health Scotland. The focus group exercises are quite light, conversational and regarding healthy ageing and what makes a difference to wellbeing, health and mood as people age in Scotland. Lodge Meeting

The annual general meeting and election of officebearers of L.O.L. 227, wil take place on Sunday in Limerigg Village Hall at 7 p.m.

Parish Church

Last Sunday’s service was conducted by the Rev. Monica MacDonald, and a lovely opening solo was sung by Grace Douglas. On door duty were Linda McGarry and Ray Buchanan. Bible reading was by Ray Buchanan . All articles for the church magazine should be with Charlene by Sunday. Boxes are still available for donations to the Falkirk Food Bank, all non-perishable goods are greatly appreciated. This Sunday service is at the usual time of 11.15 a.m. Sunday Fun Club meet at the same time, please note we are now worshipping in Slamannan Bowling Club while renovation work takes place in the church. A warm invitation is extened to members and non members to join us. teas will be served after worship allowing time for a wee chat. Anyone requiring the services of a minister should contact the Rev.
