Last Sunday’s service was held in Slamannan Bowling Club while renovation work takes place in the church. All morning services will be held there until the work is finished. the service was conducted by the Rev. Monica MacDonald. On door duty were Linda McGarry and Ray Buchanan. Congregational prayer time will be held every Sunday at 10.45 a.m. with morning worship commencing at the usual time of 11.15 a.m. Sunday School meets at the same time and a warm welcome is extended to all. There will be a St. Andrew’s Celebration evening in the Bowling Club on Friday, November 21 with music by the very talented John Morgan and Muriel. Tickets cost £7 including light buffet and are available from Linda McGarry, Agnes Maitland and Janette Baird. All articles for the church magazine should be given to Charlene by Sunday, November 2. The meeting held on October 1 was an evening with Jeanette Day learning the secrets of reflexology. This gave us a sample of how to diagnose and deal with what our body tells us and was very surprising and informative. Our November meeting will be on Wednesday the fifth and the entertainment will be clay modelling, demonstrated by Julie Cully. Be prepared to try some clay handling yourselves. Materials provided.
Permits to fish on the River Avon for season 2014 are now on sale.
