Thursday: Mums and toddlers, 9.30-11.30 a.m.; dancing, 5.30-9.30 p.m.; watercolour class, 7-9 p.m. Friday: Mums and toddlers, 10.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m.; arts and crafts, 1-3 p.m. Sunday: Councillor surgery, 10 a.m.-noon.
Permits to fish on the River Avon for season 2015 are now on sale. They are available from Linda’s Store (Slamannan); Rod and Creel (Carronshore); Go Fishing (Grahams Road, Falkirk) and also in Maryanne’s Alterations (Bo’ness), Linlithgow Post Office, Curries Printers in Broxburn and Livingston Angling (Houston Industrial Estate). Lodge St John Slamannan No 484 - The R.W.M. Graham McComb gave a warm welcome to a large deputation from Lodge Carron No 139. Headed by their R.W.M. Stuart Stirling who were invited to confer the First Degree on three candidates which was carried out with dignity and decorum. R.W.M.484 thanked and congratulated the R.W.M and his Office-Bearers on a most excellent degree. The R.W.M.139 replied with sincere thanks and deemed it an honor and privilege to confer the degree Lodge 484. The next meeting will be an F.C. Degree on Wednesday, February 18 at 7.15 p.m. Visitors will be made welcome.
Brass Band Concert
Last Sunday’s service was conducted by the Rev. Kay Brown. Ray Buchanan was on door duty. During the service, a lovely solo was sung by Grace Douglas. Scripture readings were by Ray Buchanan. Please note the S.A.M. will take place on Sunday, March 22, directly after morning worship. All members are encouraged to attend. The next social event will be a Daffodil Tea to be held in ‘Ardtalla’, Kirkburn, Slamannan on Saturday, March 28 starting at 11 a.m. All welcome. The service this Sunday is at 11 a.m. with the Kids Club meeting at the same time, and is open to all children from three years of age.
