Send us your Slamannan news and pictures by noon on Tuesday

Parish Church

Last Sunday’s service was conducted by the Rev. Monica MacDonald. On door duty was Linda McGarry. As this was the last Sunday for the Fun Club before the summer break, the children took part in the service. Amy Guerts and Heidi Whyte led us in prayer and Lucy Whyte and Amy did bible readings. The children were then presented with their prizes for their good work during the year. The funeral service for Janet Downs (Netta) was  held at Falkirk Crematorium on Tuesday, June 23 and the casket internment took place at Slamannan Cemetery on Saturday, June 27. Our deepest sympathy goes to the family. The Rose Tea held on Sunday, June 21 realised the sum of £655 and the ‘60s night held last Friday made £422, the proceeds from the ‘60s night was shared equally with the bowling club. Grateful thanks to everyone who helped in anyway for both events. The service this Sunday will be shorter and followed by a congregational meeting with an update on the church restoration and refurbishment progress. ea will be served and there will be home baking and crafts sale in support of the church funds, a good attendance will be appreciated. Everyone welcome. Please note the service is at the usual time of 11am. Prayer meeting starts at 10.40am. Anyone requiring the services of a minister should contact the Rev. Monica MacDonald on (01324) 874807.
