LOL 227 is holding a R.A.P. degree meeting on Saturday in Shieldhill Welfare at 4 p.m. Entertainment to follow.
Last Sunday’s service was conducted by the Rev. Monica MacDonald. On door duty was Ray Buchanan. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated this Sunday at the usual time of 11 a.m. Kids Club meet at the same time. Prayer time begins at 10.40 a.m. All welcome. Please remember the special collection of tinned goods for the Food Bank. A Fellowship tea will be served after the worship. The friendship group will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and new members are very welcome. The A.S.M. will take place on Sunday, March 8 directly after the morning worship. All members are encouraged to attend. The World Day of Prayer will be held on Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in Blackbraes and Shieldhill Parish Church. Holy Week services in the Braes are: Monday, March 30, Slamannan; Tuesday, March 31, Wallacestone; Wednesday, April 1, Polmont, Thursday, April 2, (Maundy Thursday), Laurieston; Friday, April 3, (Good Friday), Brightons. The fifth Hippodrome Festival of Silent Cinema will be putting on a performance in Slamannan Community Centre today (Thursday) starting at 10.30 a.m. Teas and coffees will be served from 10 a.m. Adults and OAPs are invited to come along and enjoy a morning of entertainment. Everyone will be made welcome.
Slamannan Angling and Protective Association is holding its AGM in Slamannan Community Centre tomorrow (Friday) from 6.30-7.30 p.m. Everyone will be made welcome.

The next meeting will be a RAP on Saturday in Shieldhill Welfare at 4 p.m. Afterwards there will be a social evening with Redding & Westquarter PBFB and singer Ally Dunn. Any member wishing to donate Bar Stock please bring this along.
At our meeting on February 4 we had an interesting talk about Fairtrade goods from Mr Andy Paterson. He gave us a rundown on how the system works and told us about branded Fairtrade items available in the shops.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 4 in the community centre at 7 p.m. We will learn about First Aid from representatives with the outcome of finding out what we should do in an emergency. Hope to see you there.
