Community Centre

Slamannan Community Centre has the following classes and activities on over the next week - Monday: 9.30 a.m.-noon, Work club; Mums and Toddlers, 9.30-11.30 a.m.; cooking class, 1-3 p.m.; P1-P4 youth club, 6-7.15 p.m.; P4-P7 youth club, 7.30-8.45 p.m. Tuesday: Senior youth club, 6.30-9.30 p.m. Wednesday: Fruit barra, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; Credit Union, 10-11 a.m.; Women’s Aid (first Wednesday of month); Citizens Advice (first and third Wednesday of month); Bingo, 10.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m.; karate, 6.30-8.45 p..m.; WRI, 6.30-9 p.m. (first Wednesday of month). Thursday: Mums and toddlers, 9.30-11.30 a.m.; dancing, 5.30-9.30 p.m.; watercolour class, 7-9 p.m. Friday: Mums and toddlers, 10.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m.; arts and crafts, 1-3 p.m. Sunday: Councillor surgery, 10 a.m.-noon.

AGM Meeting

Slamannan Angling and Protective Association is holding its annual general meeting in Slamannan Community Centre on Friday, February 27 from 6.30-7.30 p.m. Everyone will be made welcome.

Angling Club

Permits to fish on the River Avon for season 2015 are now on sale. They are available from Linda’s Store (Slamannan); Rod and Creel (Carronshore); Go Fishing (Grahams Road, Falkirk) and also in Maryanne’s Alterations (Bo’ness), Linlithgow Post Office, Curries Printers in Broxburn and Livingston Angling (Houston Industrial Estate). Parish Church

Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev. Monica MacDonald. On door duty was Ray Buchanan. This Sunday a soup lunch will be served after the worship. There will be no charge, however, donations will be gratefully received towards the cost of the refurbishment of the church. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will take place on Sunday, March 1. All welcome. There will be a special collecton of tinned and non-perishable goods for the Falkirk Foodbank on this day. Please note that the Stated Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, March 8, directly after the morning service, please plan to attend and hear reports and have the opportunity to ask questions. Mr and Mrs Ciabano have applied for planning consent from Falkirk Council to build a front porch at 29 Rashiehill Road, Slamannan.
