Parish Church

Last Sunday’s Easter service was led by the Rev. Monica MacDonald. On door duty was Charlene Condeco. Readings were by Linda McGarry. During the service, the children were presented with Easter eggs. The kids club will be on holiday for the next two weeks and will resume on Sunday, April 26. The Easter raffle realised the sum of £200 for the kids club. The winners were: Esther Ray and Rosina Hunter. The friendship group will meet on Tuesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome. Anyone requiring the services of a minister should contact the Rev. John Jenkinson on (01324) 625498.

Masonic News

Lodge St John Slamannan No 484. On Wednesday, March 18 R.W.Master Graham McComb gave a warm welcome to a large attendance of members and visitors. He also welcomed the P.G.M. Andrew McKinnon and his deputation who witnessed three candidates being passed to the second degree. They were congratulated by the assembled brethren. Please note Lodge 484 will be conferring the second degree at Lodge Caldercruix No 1314 on Tuesday, April 7 at 7.30 p.m. Also, the next regular meeting will be a third degree on Wednesday, April 15 at 7.30 p.m. Visitors will be made welcome.

Angling Club

Permits to fish on the River Avon for season 2015 are now on sale. They are available from Linda’s Store (Slamannan); Rod and Creel (Carronshore); Go Fishing (Grahams Road, Falkirk) and also in Maryanne’s Alterations (Bo’ness), Linlithgow Post Office, Curries Printers in Broxburn and Livingston Angling (Houston Industrial Estate).
