Masonic News

Lodge St John Slamannan No 484. On Wednesday, February 19 R.W.M. James Kerr gave a warm welcome to a large attendance of members and visitors who witnessed a most excellent first degree conferred by Lodge Caldercruix St John No 1314 on five candidates. They were given a warm welcome by the assembled Brethren. The visitors were thanked, R.W.M. Kevin McLean Lodge No 176 replied on their behalf. The next regular meeting will be a second degree on Wednesday, March 19 at 7.15 p.m. Ballot and the P.G.L. of Stirlingshire will be in attendance.

Parish Church

Last Sunday’s service was conducted by the Rev. Helen Cook. On door duty were Janette Barid and John Menzies, with readings by Lady Jane and Ray Buchanan. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated this Sunday, March 2 at the usual time of 11.15 a.m. Tea will be served after worship. There will be no Sunday School, it will start back on Sunday, March 9 all primary school children are welcome. The Friendship Group meets on Tuesday, March 4 at 7 p.m. in the hall. The World Day of Prayer will take place on Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m. a warm invitation is extended to all members and non-members. Teas will be served after the service. The A.S.M. will take place in the church on Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. There will be a social event taking place on April 5 and 6, this is in the form of pastimes and yesteryears. If you have pictures or memorabilia of Slamannan, Limerigg or the station - old shops, busienss, schools, farming, mining, cubs, scouts, girl guides etc., or stories from your past, we would be very grateful, all items will be carefully taken care of.
