Parish Church

Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev. Louise McClements. This Sunday, the service will be at the usual time of 10 a.m. Children and apprentices meet at 9.45 a.m. in the church hall. The Banner/Craft group meets on Friday, from 2-4 p.m. All are welcome. The Guild outing to ‘Hairspray’ is on Wednesday, October 29. Those attending please meet at 6.45 p.m. at the church. On Friday, November 7, there will be a cabaret evening in the Three Kings. Tickets are priced £15 and include a two course meal. Contact (01324) 617008 or 716472. Sunday services are recorded for those who are housebound or unable to attend church and a CD is available on request. Community Council

Shieldhill and California Community Council’s next meeting will be held in the Community wing, next to Shieldhill Primary School on Thursday, October 30 at 7.30 p.m. All are welcome - if you have any issues you wish to raise or highlight please attend.

Gospel Hall

Timeout-14, the Friday programme for boys and girls, resumes for the winter season at 6.30 p.m. Don’t miss it from the start! All boys and girls - and relatives and friends - will be made most welcome. The programme includes choruses, quizzes, a Bible story and juice and biscuits. The Christian gospel will be preached on Sunday at 6.30 p.m. (note time). All are invited to come and hear this important message.The Mums and Tots continues on Wednesday morning at 9.30 a.m., with play facilities free and tea and coffee available. School 50th

On Thursday, October 30 Shieldhill Primary School will be celebrating 50 years on its present site. As part of a series of activities we are looking for former pupils to help create a ‘where are they now?’ display. If you were once a member of Shieldhill Primary, please get in touch. We would love to hear about where you are living now, family you may have, career path, personal achievements and any special memories you may have of your time in Shieldhill.
