Parish Church

Last Sunday, the Rev. Louise conducted the first part of the service while Amanda MacQuarrie conducted the remaining part of the service. During the service, funds raised at The Three Kings event were distributed. Cheques were presented to Blackbraes and Shieldhill Church, the Seagull Trust and Tayavalla respite care for children based in Camelon. This Sunday, the service begins at the usual time of 10a.m., children and apprentices meeting in the hall at 9.45 a.m. Also this Sunday, at 3 p.m. an opportunity to wish our probationer Amanda MacQuarrie well in her new post in Camelon. There will be time for tea and achat. Sophie and friends will present a Christmas musical evening at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 7. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free. Any donations will be shared between Blackbraes and Shieldhill Church and Muiravonside Church. The banner/craft group meets in the church hall on friday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday services are recorded and a CD is available to those who are housbound or unable to attend church. Community Council

Shieldhill and California Community Council’s next meeting will be held in the Community wing, next to Shieldhill Primary School tonight (Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. All are welcome - if you have any issues you wish to raise or highlight please attend.

Gospel Hall

Timeout-14, the programme for boys and girls, continues on Friday at 6.30 p.m. with choruses, quizzes, a Bible story and biscuits and juice. All boys and girls are invited, with mums and dads as well. The Christian gospel will be preached on Sunday at 6.30 p.m. (note time) by Mr George Forbes from Gourock. All are invited to come and hear this important message. The Mums and Tots continues on Wednesday morning at 9.30 a.m. with play facilities free and tea and coffee available. School Starts

Commencement of primary school education – children from Shieldhill who reach five years of age on or before August 19, 2015 must commence primary education at the start of school session in August 2015. Children whose fifth birthday falls on or between August 20, 2015 and February 29, 2016 May commence primary education in August 2015. Enrolment dates and times for Shieldhill are as follows - Monday, January 12: 9.15-10.30 a.m. and 1.15-2.15 p.m.; Tuesday, January 13: 9.15-10.30 a.m. and 1.15-2.15 p.m.; Thursday, January 15, 9.15-10.30 a.m. and 1.15-2.15 p.m.; Friday, January 16, 9.15-10.30 a.m.
