Community Council

Shieldhill and California Community Council’s next meeting will be held in the Community wing, next to Shieldhill Primary School on Thursday, March 27 at 7.30 p.m. All are welcome - if you have any issues you wish to raise or highlight please attend.

Gospel Hall

Timeout-14, the programme for boys and girls continues on Friday at 6.30 p.m. with choruses, a quiz, a Bible story and juice and biscuits. All children invited, with adults and parents as well. The Christian gospel will be preached on Sunday at 6.30 p.m. (note time), when the speaker will be Ernie Nelson from Mayfield. Come and hear this message for yourself. The Mums and Tots continues on Wednesday at 9.30 a.m. for all mothers and toddlers in the area. There is no charge and tea and coffee are supplied. All are free to come and go as they please. Parish Church

Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev. Louise McClements assisted by Amanda MacQuarrie. During the service Amelia McNelly, daughter of Gordon and Laura and younger sister to her brother Ryan, was baptised and welcomed into the family of the church. Worship this Sunday will be held at the usual time of 10 a.m. Sunday School and the Apprentices meet in the church hall at 9.45 a.m. The Guild held its annual business meeting yesterday (Wednesday). The banner group meets at 2 p.m. on Fridays in the church hall. Sunday morning services are recorded and a CD is available for anyone who is housebound or unable to attend church.
