Parish Church

In the absence of Rev. Louise McClements, Rev. Marion Perry, Cumbernauld conducted the service last Sunday. This Sunday there will be a family service which will include prize giving for the children and the apprentices. The service will be at the usual time of 10 a.m., children meeting in the hall at 9.45 a.m. Our annual joint service with Muiravonside Parish Church will take place on Sunday, July 5 at 11.30 a.m. There will be no worship that morning in Shieldhill Church. Sunday services are recorded and a CD available for those who are housebound or unable to attend church. The magazine, photo gallery and other church information are available on the website -

Community Council

Shieldhill & California Community Council’s next meeting will be held in the Community wing, next to Shieldhill Primary School tonight (Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. Agenda items for the meeting includes updates to the treasurer’s report, police matters (provided by local officers), schools, community education, Shieldhill & California village matters, church, planning, environmental and correspondence received. There will also be a guest speaker from NHS Forth Valley to speak about the Charter of Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities. Everyone is welcome - if you have any issues you wish to raise or highlight please attend.

Gospel Hall

The monthly meeting of Timeout-15, the Friday programme for boys and girls, will be held on Friday at 6.30 p.m. with a programme of choruses, a quiz, a Bible story and juice and biscuits. All boys and girls are invited with parents and relatives as well. The Christian gospel will be preached on Sunday at 6.30 p.m. (note time), when the speaker will be Mr Andrew DeVille from Dunfermline. All are invited to come and hear this important message.
