A video taken by a local resident captured the horrifying moment a popular family butchers shop turned into a raging inferno following a lightning strike during this morning’s thunderstorms.

Stuart McClelland’s footage, filmed from a hill above Brightons Main Street, shows the extent of the fire which broke out at Thomas Johnston’s Butchers.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service personnel were soon at the scene to extinguish the blaze.
