Second ban for Grangemouth drink driver

Police saw Robert Moultrie driving 'erratically' at 1.30am and pulled him over.

A road-side breath test, later confirmed by a second check at the police station, showed he was behind the wheel while more than three times the legal limit.

At Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday the 31-year-old was banned for three years and fined £450.

Moultrie, from 72 Lime Street, Grangemouth, was stopped on Almond Street, Grangemouth, on October 5 last year and later found to be driving with 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 22 in 100.

Moultrie, who had been disqualified before, admitted the charge before the case went to trial and had sentence deferred for reports.

Sheriff Linda Smith told him: “This was a very high reading. It was a foolish decision to drive at all.”
