A list of pet-friendly establishments has been put together, and Scottish dog owners will be asked to vote for their favourites throughout the summer.
The shortlist of 40 locations from all over Scotland, has been compiled by Vets4Pets practices in Scotland and is split into four different categories; pubs, cafes, restaurants and bars, and hotels and B&Bs.
People can vote for one establishment in each category and the final top ten list will be revealed in September.
Adam Charleston, veterinary surgeon and owner at Vets4Pets, said: “Dogs are often considered as members of the family, and so it’s vital that there are places that accommodate dogs when their owners want to take them on holiday or days out.

“Scotland has so many amazing and beautiful areas for owners to explore with their dog; it is such an added bonus if there are establishments at these locations where dogs are allowed to stay, eat and relax too.
“This search will raise awareness for dog owners in Scotland, or those visiting Scotland, about all the great places where they can enjoy some food and drinks with their dog.
“When exploring the great outdoors, owners should ensure their dog remains well-behaved at all times, they clear up after them and be careful that their dog only eats suitable food.
“There are a number of foods like onions, grapes, chocolate and nuts, available at most cafes, which can be toxic to dogs.
“We are looking forward to seeing the results and helping dog owners discover more of Scotland’s beautiful locations with their dog.”
