Margaret Coutts of Falkirk Samaritans with the 2014 Community Achievement Award
Margaret Coutts of Falkirk Samaritans with the 2014 Community Achievement Award

The hunt is once again underway to find a person who has made a real difference to their community.

Every year, the Rotary Club of Falkirk seeks nominations for an individual who has made their mark in the district by helping others in some way.

As well as being presented with the Community Achievement trophy, the person adjudged to be the worthiest recipient also receives a cheque for £400 to donate to the charity or worthy cause of their choosing.

The cash comes thanks to annual sponsorship from The Falkirk Herald and Phoenix Honda, now based in Stirling.

Last year’s winner was Falkirk grandmother Margaret Coutts who was recognised for her 45 years as a volunteer with Falkirk and Central Scotland Samaritans.

To make a nomination please send details of the individual and why you think they should be a winner to: Rotary Community Achievement Award, The Falkirk Herald, Unit 4A, Gateway Business Park, Beancross Road, Grangemouth, FK3 8WX.

Don’t forget to include your own name and contact details.

Closing date for entries is noon on Friday, October 23.
