A public meeting will take place next week aimed at providing information on next year’s independence referendum to young voters.

Organised by SNP councillor John McNally, it takes place at Denny Bowling Club on Wednesday, September 18, at 7.30 p.m.

Among the speakers at the meeting will be former professional football
player and Falkirk striker Kenny Deuchar, author Alan Bissett, Falkirk West MSP Michael Matheson and Angela Constance MSP,
minister for youth
employment.

Mr McNally said: “Although this is primarily aimed at young people, it would be encouraging to see parents, relatives, and friends along with the younger members of our community.

“There are of course parents who would wish to ask the panel why they themselves should vote for independence in the interest of their own children’s future.”

Meanwhile, the Bo’ness branch of the Yes campaign is holding a question-and-answer session on September 17 in Bo’ness Town Hall at 7.30 p.m.
