A gran-of-seven has put the January blues behind her after scooping just under £29,000 playing bingo.
Janette Reynolds’ numbers came up last Sunday night when she snapped up the bumper prize at Falkirk’s Gala Bingo.
The 70-year-old from Redding couldn’t believe her luck when the four numbers she was waiting for in the national link-up game came out one after the other.
Delighted Janette said: “I don’t usually play that game - it’s against all the clubs in Scotland and England so you think, ‘what chance have you got?’.
“But that night, I had £2 lying so I played.
“When the numbers came out, I had to press a button rather than shout out.
“I pressed it so many times I thought my finger was going to fall off.”
Janette said that she didn’t realise how much she had won until she looked up at the main board.
She said: “I couldn’t believe it.
“I was there with my friend - Janette Walker - and she was up dancing.”
Janette then went home to share the good news with husband, Bruce.
She said: “He was upstairs, and I told him to come down. I said I’d had a wee win at the bingo!”
Janette’s win came on the first night on the job for general manager Gary McDonald. He said: “It’s a superb way to start my Gala career.”
