Redding Church

Sunday’s Remembrance Service was conducted by Rev. Dr Mary Henderson, the theme being ‘The King’s Shilling’ with readings from the Bible by Helen Baird. It began with a Poppy Wreath being brought in to church by Mr Stan Dick. After the two-minute silence ‘The Flowers of the Forest’ was movingly played by piper Mr Jamie Wilson. At the close of the service we were treated to a rousing solo by our organist Jerry Smith. After the service the wreath was taken to Polmont War Memorial where it was laid after a short Act of Remembrance. This Sunday, service is at the usual time of 11.30 a.m. The Sunday Club meet in the hall then join the church for the first part of the service. If you are over three years of age and would like to join please come along. The Guild meets in the hall on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. so if you are free please come along and join us. Open to men and women. Food bank: there will be an opportunity to donate non perishable goods in church during Advent on November 30, December 7, 14 and 21.
