Sunday’s Remembrance Service was conducted by Rev. Dr Mary Henderson, the theme being ‘The King’s Shilling’ with readings from the Bible by Helen Baird. It began with a Poppy Wreath being brought in to church by Mr Stan Dick. After the two-minute silence ‘The Flowers of the Forest’ was movingly played by piper Mr Jamie Wilson. At the close of the service we were treated to a rousing solo by our organist Jerry Smith. After the service the wreath was taken to Polmont War Memorial where it was laid after a short Act of Remembrance. This Sunday, service is at the usual time of 11.30 a.m. The Sunday Club meet in the hall then join the church for the first part of the service.
