After a string of bogus callers in the Falkirk area, Scottish Water is reminding customers to be aware of how to beat the crooks.
Following the companies three C’s rule of, card, check and call, the water company is hopeful less people will fall victim to the callous criminals.
If you are on the receiving end of a cold call from anyone claiming to be from Scottish Water, under no circumstances should the door be opened without first checking the caller’s identity card. The card can be passed through the letterbox where it can be checked to ensure the person is who they say they are. This stops anyone from forcing their way into your home.
