Probe into Denny mum's death

Jane Reilly’s body was discovered as firefighters tackled an early morning blaze at Stirling Street in Dunipace on Saturday.

The large semi, which had been lying empty since last Wednesday because of another fire, was half a mile from where Mrs Reilly lived at a house also believed to be in Stirling Street.

A joint investigation has been launched by Police Scotland the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and is ongoing.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Enquiries are continuing. The death is being treated as unexplained pending further investigation.”

Forensic experts and police maintained a heavy presence in the street following Saturday’s fire.

It was the second blaze at the same building in the space of a few days following an unsuspicious fire on Wednesday at the neighbouring property.

Mrs Reilly (53) leaves behind three children, Graham Walker, who is in his 30s, and teenagers Liam and Caitlin, who are former pupils of Denny High.

The school’s rector Stephen Miller said: “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the death of the lady, and our thoughts are with her family at this time.”

She is also survived by her husband Liam, mother Ruby, sisters Diane and Michelle and brother Patrick.
