Posh crisps recalled as bags may contain plastic

The manufacturer of a premium crisp brand has recalled a batch of its products due to a risk of bags being contaminated with pieces of plastic.

Kettle Foods Ltd has recalled bags of Kettle Chips with a ‘best before’ date of 28 May 2016.

The recall affects various flavours, including Lightly Salted 150g, Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar 40g, Mature Cheddar and Red Onion 40g as well as 30g bags of Lightly Salted.

A Kettle Foods Ltd spokesperson said: “As a precautionary measure, customers are being asked not to eat the product and to contact Kettle Foods for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank our customers in advance for their cooperation.

“Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to Kettle Chips and we take any issue concerning our product very seriously.

“We pride ourselves on outstanding quality and are currently investigating the situation internally.”
