The trials, tribulations and triumphs of a general practitioner were outlined in a humorous manner to members of Polmont Probus Club at its meeting last week. That’s when Dr John Leonard, formerly in practice in Falkirk but now retired, regaled members with his experiences of his career in medicine. The vote of thanks was offered by Sandy Simpson. Earlier members stood in silence as a mark of respect for the life of the late Rev. Charles Heriot, an honorary member in recent times but years earlier President of the club. Next week’s meeting will not take place at its customary location at the Greenpark Centre. Instead members are encouraged to meet there only at 10 a.m. before sharing cars for the brief journey to the Grangemouth Heritage Centre for a 10.30 a.m. start there.
