Probus Club

Did you know that the country’s very first washing powder was developed in Grangemouth? Or that world-famous escapologist Harry Houdini left some of his stage props in his ‘digs’ in the town when he appeared at the Electric Theatre, later La Scala? Those interesting titbits of information were imparted to members of Polmont Probus Club last week by Maureen Burns of Grangemouth’s Heritage Trust. In a most informative address Maureen held her audience spellbound via her PortPoint presentation. President Bill Cartner was in the chair.
