Strollers Group

If you are a new mum why not come along to our buggy group. The feedback from the group has been very good, as well as meeting other mums, by being out in the fresh air and getting fitter, mums share information. Your local health visitor is also on hand to deal with any questions or concerns you may have. The group meet every Monday 12.30 p.m. at the car park opposite the Greenbank centre. The walk takes about 40 minutes. After the walk mums go back to the church hall where there is a very well run baby group.

Old Parish

Despite a cold, miserable and misty morning a sizeable congregation attended the service. Given that it was Mothering Sunday all the lassies received both a chocolate and a daffodil. Following the service the congregation’s AGM was held with a presentation of the annual accounts and a reminder that the meeting for the nomination committee to appoint a new minister will be held after the service this weekend. Today a clear message was conveyed that despite the loss of our minister we have a locum, Reverend David Wandrum, who has clearly signalled that the church is open for business and the life of our church remains in good heart. Other events include the ‘New2You’ kids clothing and toy sale in the church hall on Saturday, April 5 at 10 a.m. and a spring social arranged by the Age Concern Group on Wednesday, April 23. On Sunday, Morning Service will be conducted by our Locum Minster Rev. David Wandrum at 11 a.m. in Church. Choir practice at 9.45 a.m., Prayer Meeting in the Vestry at 10.30 a.m., Youth Church meets in the church at 11 a.m., Creche in the Fellowship Room at 11 a.m. On duty are J Lewis and A Andrews. On duty for Reading - S Reid and Prayer - Ian McLean. Election of Nominating Committee for vacancy after morning Service. Lunch Bunch will be open as normal today (Thursday).
