Lovely Polmont night walk on Tuesdays is back on with the lighter nights present! Meet at Polmont station by the bowling club to start for 7 p.m. This hour walk takes in the beautiful scenery of the Union Canal. The last meeting of Polmont Horticultural Society’s winter talks takes place on Sunday, April 26. The speakers will be members of the committee who will be planting summer tubs and baskets. All our meetings are in The Greenpark Centre and begin at 7 p.m. Plant order forms are now available and can be obtained from members of the committee.
On Sunday, morning service will be conducted by Rev. Deborah van Welie at 11 a.m. Choir practice at 9.45 a.m. Prayer Meeting in the Vestry at 10.30 a.m. Youth Church meets at 11 a.m. in Church. Creche in the Fellowship Room at 11 a.m. On duty are J Lewis and A Andrews. Duty for Reading will be H Jeffery and Prayer will be D Turner. Flower Distributor is G Hodge, Flower Donation by G Hodge. ACTs duty will be M Cowie and V Hawkins. Golf outing: The Polmont Old Parish Church and Brightons Parish Church joint invitation golf outing will be held on Friday, May 22 over nine holes at Dundas Parks Golf Club. The total cost of the event will be £24 which will include green fees, prizes and a two-course lunch. All participants wishing to take part in the event should return their acceptance and remittance no later than Sunday, May 10 to David Syson at church or by post to 10 Millfield Drive, Polmont, FK2 0PH. Spring Social: A social (afternoon tea and entertainment) will be held in the church hall on Wednesday, April 22 from 2–4 p.m. for our housebound, Local Homes and all members of the Wednesday Age Concern Group. Polmont Clean-up Day: is on Saturday, April 25, meet at the church hall for registration at 10 a.m. and refreshments at 11.30 a.m. All welcome, please come along and help keep our village beautiful.
