Here's how much the average property in Falkirk district costs
The boost contributes to the longer-term trend, which has seen property prices in the area achieve 5.7 per cent annual growth.
The average Falkirk house price in May was £130,760, Land Registry figures show – a 1.3 per cent increase on April.

Hide AdOver the month, the picture was better than that across Scotland, where prices increased 0.5 per cent, and Falkirk outperformed the 0.3 per cent rise for the UK as a whole.
Over the last year, the average sale price of property in Falkirk rose by £7100 – putting the area eighth among Scotland’s 32 local authorities for annual growth.
The best annual growth in the region was in West Dunbartonshire, where properties increased on average by 13.7 per cent, to £119,000.
At the other end of the scale, properties in Na h-Eileanan Siar dropped 24.5 per cent in value, giving an average price of £90,000.

Hide AdOwners of flats saw the biggest improvement in property prices in Falkirk in May – they increased 2.1 per cent, to £77,238 on average.
Over the last year, prices rose by 4.8 per cent.

Detached – up 0.8 per cent monthly; up 7.4 per cent annually; £241,790 average
Semi-detached – up 1.1 per cent monthly; up 5.4 per cent annually; £141,376 average
Terraced – up 1.2 per cent monthly; up 5.1 per cent annually; £105,672 average

Hide AdFirst-time buyers in Falkirk spent an average of £108,300 on their property – £5300 more than a year ago, and £18,900 more than in May 2015.
By comparison, former owner-occupiers paid £155,400 on average in May – 43.5 per cent more than first-time buyers.
Buyers paid 15.4 per cent less than the average price in Scotland (£155,000) in May for a property in Falkirk.
Across Scotland, property prices are low compared to those across the UK, where the average cost £236,000.
The most expensive properties in Scotland were in City of Edinburgh – £274,000 on average, and 2.1 times as much as in Falkirk.
