Falkirk voters get chance to pose 'awkward questions' at online election hustings

Residents of the Falkirk area are being given an opportunity to pose “awkward questions” to candidates for the Scottish Parliament election.

Environmental organisation Friends of the Earth is hosting an online hustings so members of the public can quiz those standing for Falkirk East and Falkirk West.

Candidates from the SNP, Scottish Conservatives, Scottish Labour, Scottish Liberal Democrats and Scottish Greens have been invited to take part in the event.

The hustings will take place via Zoom on Thursday, April 29 from 7.30pm.

Richard Dyer, of the Falkirk branch of Friends of the Earth said: “This is a chance for people to put awkward questions to the election candidates for the upcoming Scottish Parliamentary elections.

“We believe that people are concerned about Ineos and flaring in Grangemouth, too much plastic waste getting into the oceans, climate change and so on.”
