Falkirk East SNP candidate battle over as Michelle Thomson wins selection

Ms Thomson battled against Councillors Meiklejohn and Murtagh as well as Sue Friel for the position after Angus MacDonald said in June that he would not stand again.

Mr MacDonald commented: “It has been an enormous honour and privilege to serve the people of Grangemouth at council level, with the subsequent pinnacle of that honour representing Falkirk East in the Scottish Parliament for the past nine years.”
