£180,000 to help feed Falkirk children during school holidays

Falkirk councillors are to spend £180,000 helping families on low incomes feed their children over the October school holidays.

Children receiving clothing grants or educational maintenance allowance, as well as those who get free school meals, will be given £35 to cover the ten days of the October holidays.

This is the same amount that was paid to families during Easter and summer holidays.

This year’s October break is longer to make up for the early return for Falkirk pupils following months of home schooling.
