Steven McLeod, who opened the B-listed building as a hotel and event venue in 2015, wants to use the orangery as a new, permanent event space to replace two large marquees which currently help the venue host around 100 weddings each year.

The hotel near Airth was originally built in 1863 as a parsonage for Dunmore Estate and the application to Falkirk Council promises that the design and materials of the new areas will respect the house’s history and architecture.

Mr McLeod intends to remove the existing marquees, including the adjacent toilet facilities, at the end of the current season with the hope the new extension will be finished in time for the start of the new season in April 2021.
