The timber doors on the Plaza Cafe, which overlooks the lagoon, could be replaced with aluminium framed doors and screens if planning permission is granted, giving visitors shelter from the elements without losing the view.

Falkirk Community Trust is seeking planning permission from Falkirk Council to make the change.

The Plaza Café is popular with dog walkers, cyclists and families as it is close to the Helix’s adventure play park and its splash play area.

It is open from April until October every year.
