A virtual meeting of Falkirk Council’s planning committee heard that several people, including the applicant’s agent, had asked to make deputations regarding a new church and associated facilities on land to the north east of Unit 1 Kinnaird Village Centre, McIntyre Avenue, Larbert.

Councillors heard that a total of 2055 public representations have been
received in response to the application; 1088 objections, 958 in support and nine neutral.

Members heard that putting off a decision could mean the applicant, Grace Church, would appeal to the Scottish Government Reporter as the council had failed to determine the application in time.

Councillor Laura Murtagh asked that the council adapt their process so that deputations could be heard ‘virtually’ at a future meeting, allowing people to have their say without delaying the process too much.

Following a vote, this was agreed.
