Falkirk receives donation of face masks from China

The donation was part of a gift to seven ‘sister cities’

Provost William Buchanan was delighted to receive more than 2400 disposable protective face masks which have been donated to the Falkirk Council area by the Yueqing Peoples Government in China.

The donation was part of a worldwide gift of masks to another seven locations recognised as ‘sister cities’.

The masks were donated to the Provost who has in turn handed them over to the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership.

Provost Buchanan said: “This is a generous donation on behalf of the Mayor of Yueqing and the Yueqing Peoples Government, and it celebrates the goodwill that exists between us during such difficult times.

“We will be arranging for the distribution of the masks as soon as practical and to where they would be most useful in local communities.”

Provost Buchanan is pictured handing over the masks to Patricia Cassidy, chief officer of the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership.
