Police Scotland has advised against travel in the central belt as severe gales and heavy rain batter the area.
Gusts of up to 90mph are causing heavy disruption on the area’s road, rail and bridge network.
All Scotrail services from Falkirk, Polmont and Larbert were suspended this morning due to debris on the tracks. One train on the Edinburgh-Glasgow mainline was involved in a “minor collision” near Cory, causing all other services to be cancelled.
There were also long tailbacks on the M876 near Denny as trees were blown onto the carriageway.
The Forth Road Bridge was closed temporarily to all traffic this morning but is due to re-open to cars only, and the Clackmannanshire Bridge is closed to high-sided vehicles.
Main local roads have been affected by flooding, falling branches and surface water, but are passable with “extreme care”.
However, all Falkirk Council schools remain open.
The weather is expected to improve this afternoon.
