Counterfeit goods worth around £50,000 have been seized in Denny.

Falkirk Police executed a search warrant on behalf of FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft) last Tuesday at an address in Haypark Road where the haul of cosmetic electronics was seized.

Local community officers say the haul was “substantial” with an estimated value of £50,000.

Sergeant Ewan Graham of the Denny Community Team said: “This has been a very good operation which has involved working closely with our partners, the UKBA (UK Borders Agency) and FACT.

“These goods, which are mainly cosmetic electronics, pose a real danger to users as they have not been tested or conform to the regulations.

“We’ll continue to work alongside our partners to tackle counterfeit goods.”

Two people, a 58-year-old male and a 47-year-old woman are being investigated for the possession and distribution of counterfeit goods.

In addition to the recovery of the goods, further financial enquiry is being carried out in relation to the two suspects.
